My dearest fellow guildies,
In August 2009 I took over guild leadership from Detk at a time when I felt I could dedicate the necessary time and effort required to take the guild forward through the latter challenges imposed on us by the Lich King, and beyond.
We fought side by side against the challenges presented to us at the Crusaders' Coliseum in our preparation for the assault on Icecrown Citadel. We relished the opportunity to take on the dastardly inhabitants of the Citadel itself. We were Malice and
we were legion!
However, during the most recent passage of time, I have been unable to devote enough (or even ANY!) time to the World of Warcraft. I have had to deal with the Real World of Zaqzon; my work and family commitments have increased and the time I was able to give to Malice has been reduced to little more than casually perusing the forums.
We need a strong, fair and, above all, available leadership to plan, engage and direct the passion and efforts of the members of our beloved guild. Given this, I am no longer in a position to be able to be guild leader and it falls to me to pass on that responsibility to somebody who is able to drive us forward.
Malice is almost 4 years old and it is time, now, for a new leader to take us forward. Time for a new leader to keep the guild spirit high. Time for a new leader to take this fantastic group of individuals on new, challenging, profitable adventures. Time for a new leader to prepare us all for an upcoming, world-changing, disasterous (and fantastic) Cataclysm.
It is time for Rakesho (the artist formerly known as Unionshifter!) to step up to face the challenges that lie ahead!
Zaqzon hands over to Rakesho at the gates of Orgrimmar
I hope you will all join me in wishing Rakesho the very best of luck during his time as Master of Malice. He has always been a stalwart member of the officership and, I am certain, will do a grand job as our illustrious leader.
And as for Zaqzon? Well, I will not be leaving the World of Warcraft, though my appearances will likely remain few for the time being. Rest assured though, me and my pink, *ahem*, purple dress will be back!
A final word:
To all those who have supported me during my time as GM, my heartfelt thanks.
To all those who have made this guild the fantastic place it is today, my undying gratitude.
To Rakesho: good luck and good hunting! :-)
To everybody: hail you all, and always:
Hail Malice!
Z.
